About the Album

Titled "Bob Wiles and Cowboy Jones",  there are 12 songs on the album ...

Some Old , Some new , A look back and A look forward.

Some written by Bob Wiles, some written by Anthony Pierce and some by their songwriting mentors

Greg Jacobs,  Tom Skinner and Bob Childers.

Something special happens when Cowboy Jones takes the stage.

Not just the music, but the love and respect that they have for each other.

They decided to go into the studio and document it,  at the legendary Teegarden Studios in Tulsa, Oklahoma,

The band has dedicated the album to Jim Paul Blair and Dub Carr.

Some brand new songs from Bob Wiles include I'M GONNA WAKE UP.

Bob Started this song when Bob Childers died (a wake up call),

he wrote another verse when Tom Skinner died, he wrote some more when Brandon Jenkins died

and he finished the song when Jim Paul Blair passed away. Jim was a dear friend and member of the band.

His untimely passing came right when the band was starting the new recording project.

Dub Carr was band member Anthony Pierce's father in law. He died of complications from Corona Virus.

We miss them both and our heart goes out to anyone who has experienced a similar loss in these strangest of times

Cowboy Jones put their own stamp on some of Wiles' classic Red Dirt songs (USED TO BE  and  FRESH CUT HAY),

as well as some of Bob's songs that have never been recorded before:

COCK ROBIN , TRUCK PRAYER, RED TAILED HAWK"  and ROPIN FOOL, an Ode to Will Rogers.

Anthony Pierce contributes DON'T TOUCH THE SKILLET and TOKE AND A SMILE.

A Classic Country song for the Modern Age.

They honor their songwriting mentors with:
